June 27 with Bishop Greg O'Kelly

Special guest speaker Bishop Greg O'Kelly promises to set our hearts on fire for the pilgrimage to Sydney.

As usual we were engaged and treasured by our Bishop Greg O'Kelly.
He took us through a brief and insightful look at historical South Australia. He explained the history and journey of Catholicism in Adelaide and through the eyes of Bl. Mary MacKillop.
The Adelaide Cathedral celebrates 150 years this month and so it is most fitting we rediscover our past!

Sr Marie Foale (middle in photo wearing yellow jumper) gave us a deep and personal look into the life and making of Bl. Mary MacKillop who is a patron Saint of WYD.

We were walked through her life and discovered many intimacies about her family and mission. I did not know that Bl Mary MacKillop's family life was so difficult and dysfunctional. She is a Saint for our country that is racked by divorce and broken family life. Please read up on Bl. Mary's life. She is our saint and we can grow close to her and learn from her exemplary life. Please also pray for her Canonisation so the world can share in God's Majesty through her witness of His generosity and passion for all His peoples.

Our WYD singers shared with us the meaning behind the song and enlivened our connection to the theme song. I can't wait to sing it in Sydney!

God bless Deacon Matthew as he walks to the threshold of faith and to give his life to Jesus. May Our Lord take you up into His glory. We love you and pray you take us up by your sacrifice!
